Our story
What's the story?
Hi! I'm Frank Vos and have been an avid homebrewer since 2018. Starting in 2025, I'll be selling my first commercial brews. Each beer is brewed as a tribute to people the brewer holds dear, with flavors that typify friendship. So, "the story" doesn't really refer to the beer itself, but rather to the person it's made for. This could be a cousin, father, girlfriend, or distant grandmother—as long as they appreciate the beer and we can create memories together. Besides brewing, I also enjoy chatting—just casual chitchat, really, something about "tales from the past." So, this is essentially giving me a platform to capture those stories once and for all. And how cool is it to have a beer named after you?
Village Brewery Terheijden
Brewing for the cows
I brew with Marcel Maan and Sander Lodewikus, owners of a unique village brewery. Together we brew in batches of 260 liters, and the byproducts (beer grains) go to the cows on the adjacent farm (see photo). The local newspaper (BN de Stem) wrote a great article about the unique working methods and vision of this village brewery.
Unique recipes
Besides unique names, we also try to incorporate unusual elements into our recipes. Almost all beers have ingredients that don't typically fit the style. Think of cold brew coffee in a Quadruple, or paradise seeds in a Tripel. I also like to think outside the box; sometimes I work with a mix of several yeast strains, or we use hops straight from the bush. I often brew and refine the recipe at home up to 10 times before it becomes commercially available. Experimenting remains the most fun, and that's why there are many more new beers to come!
